She loved to crochet and knit, but most of all she had a great love for her pets. She had devoted her life to caring for children whether it was through her work or just in her everyday life. She was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Ellis; parents, Dallas Lane Evans and Sallie Ann Rogers Evans; siblings: Welsey F. “Bud” Evans, Jim Evans, Peg Evans, Joe Evans, Betty Evans, Ina Wilson and Dee Evans. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, several nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, 2019, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home, Cleveland Chapel. Interment will be at Gamble Limestone Cemetery in Meigs County, following the visitation. Pastor David Evans will be officiating the service. They’ll celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary on November 19th, 2019, together.Patricia “Pat” Craig left our world on March 25th, 2019 at Agrace Hospice Center.Mom was born to Laura and Howard Ellis on April 2nd, 1930 in Madison. She attended Central High School where she met the only man she ever loved, John Craig. They married in 1949 in Dubuque Iowa and went on to have 5 children.She worked for Goodwill Industries of SC Wisconsin for 23 years, retiring in 1995. She spent her non-working years taking care of her Grandchildren whenever possible or whenever needed. She and Dad had a wonderful life together spending it with Family and countless Friends. She loved her vacations to Door County and Las Vegas, and when she slowed down some she settled for the Dogs in Dubuque - a tradition her daughters carry on to this day.Mom is survived by her children, Laurie Sokolak, Cindy Craig, Dan (Virginia) Craig, Amy (Mike) Clark, Carrie (Rick) Brownrigg; Grandchildren Lisa (Tuck) Steil, Kelli Craig, Casey (Mehgan) Clark, Caitlyn (Taylor) Clark, JJ (Julie) Craig, Kyle Brownrigg, Brett Brownrigg and Great Granddaughter, Maddy Steil. She’s also survived by sister in law, Inez Kruger as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, son in law Larry Sokolak, Grandchildren Jessica and DJ, and her siblings Frances Younger, Mary Grace Capelle, Phyllis Ellis, and brothers Dick and John EllisWe 4 siblings want to especially show our gratitude to our sister Cindy as she took the very best care of Mom around the clock and we’re forever grateful for that.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 4th 2019 at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N Sherman Ave, with Fr. Robert Evenson presiding.
